In the late 1990s, a group of friends had the ambitious plan to establish the first whisky distillery in Wales for over a century. Their aim was to create a whisky as pure and precious as Welsh gold. In 2004, on St David's Day, this dream became a reality when Penderyn Whisky saw the light of day. The distillery owes its uniqueness in part to the copper still with a special still designed by Dr David Faraday. It is located in the village of Penderyn, at the southern end of the Brecon Beacons. The pure spring water from the region contributes significantly to the quality of the exceptional Penderyn whiskies.

Penderyn Sherrywood Single Malt Welsh Whisky is first matured in carefully selected ex-bourbon casks before receiving its distinctive finish in ex-Oloroso sherry casks. The double maturation gives the Penderyn Sherrywood added depth and complexity, making it a harmonious and elegant pleasure.
