The Teeling Irish Whiskey Rum Cask is characterised by an exceptionally high malt content, a rare feature that gives it a particularly distinctive note. Maturation takes place in two carefully coordinated phases: First, grain and malt whiskeys are aged separately in ex-bourbon barrels, with a special 3:1 ratio in favour of the grain.

This first maturation phase, which can last up to six years, allows the whiskeys to develop their individual flavours and character traits. The whiskeys are then combined in small batches and receive a final finish in carefully selected American rum casks. This final maturation gives the Teeling Irish Whiskey Rum Cask its complex depth and rich flavour, which makes it unique in the world of Irish whiskeys.
