Santa Teresa 1796 Triple Aged Solera Rum is a premium rum from Venezuela steeped in tradition, characterised by an exceptional three-stage ageing process. First, three different styles of rum – Light, Heavy and Pot Still Rum – are aged separately for between 4 and 35 years. They are then combined by the Maestros Roneros to create a complex blend. The second stage of ageing takes place in the characteristic Solera system, comprising four tiers of hogshead casks. The casks are never completely emptied, ensuring that every bottle contains a proportion of the original Ron Madre from 1992. This continuous process plays a key role in maintaining the consistent style of Santa Teresa 1796.


In a third stage of ageing, the rum is transferred to large casks made from French Limousin oak, which are also never completely emptied. This additional ageing lends the Santa Teresa 1796 Solera Rum further balance and structure. The combination of rums aged for up to 35 years, the Solera process and triple maturation forms the key distinguishing feature of this bottling. The Venezuelan rum is available in a 0.7-litre bottle at 40 per cent ABV. Its complex composition of distillates of varying strengths and the Solera system, which has been continuously maintained since 1992, make Santa Teresa 1796 Rum particularly appealing to connoisseurs of elaborately matured Solera blended rums.
