The Dellavalle Grappa Affinata in botti da Sauternes 2007 is an exclusive, barrel-matured vintage bottling from Distilleria Roberto Dellavalle in Vigliano d'Asti. For this special edition, selected pomace is distilled in small copper stills to preserve the flavour and clarity of the distillate. The grappa is then matured in Sauternes barrels, which previously housed the famous French noble sweet wine from the Bordeaux region. This barrel ageing characterises the grappa with the characteristic honey-like sweetness, soft fruity notes and elegant depth that is typical of Sauternes wines. The 2007 vintage and the elegant presentation in a wooden box emphasise the exclusivity of this limited Dellavalle bottling.


The combination of the Piedmontese art of distillation and French barrel refinement gives this grappa an exceptionally round, warm and complex flavour. During the maturation period, the Sauternes barrels take on notes of ripe yellow fruit, honey, vanilla and mild spices, which combine harmoniously with the clear structure of the grappa. Bottled at 42% by volume, this edition has a full-bodied, soft flavour profile that perfectly combines the intensity of the grape marc spirit and the elegant sweetness of the barrel ageing.
