The Dellavalle Grappa Affinata in botti da Marsala 2007 is a high-quality, barrel-aged speciality from the Distilleria Roberto Dellavalle in Vigliano d'Asti, Piedmont. For this limited vintage edition, selected marc is gently distilled in small copper stills in order to preserve the fine, varietal flavours unadulterated. The 2007 vintage grappa is then matured in selected Marsala barrels, which previously housed the famous Sicilian fortified wine. This barrel ageing gives the distillate a warm, complex structure that harmoniously combines the clear Piedmontese signature with the sweet and spicy depth of Marsala. The presentation in an elegant wooden box emphasises the special character of this matured bottling.


During the long maturation phase, the Marsala barrels take on flavours of dried fruit, caramel, vanilla and fine wood spice, which combine smoothly with the natural freshness and structure of the grappa. Bottled at 42 per cent by volume, this grappa has a full-bodied, soft and at the same time aromatically deep style. The combination of Piedmontese distillation art and southern Italian barrel character makes it a precious rarity in the Distilleria Dellavalle range.
