The Dellavalle Grappa Affinata in botti da Passito di Pantelleria 2007 is a rare, barrel-aged speciality from the Distilleria Roberto Dellavalle in Vigliano d'Asti, Piedmont. For this particularly high-quality bottling, selected marc is gently distilled in small copper stills and then matured in barrels of the famous Passito di Pantelleria. These sweet wine barrels come from the Sicilian island of Pantelleria and are known for their intense flavours of sun-dried Zibibbo grapes. Maturation in passito barrels gives the grappa a warm, fruity depth and an elegant sweetness that blends harmoniously with the clear structure of the distillate. Bottled at 42 per cent by volume and presented in an elegant wooden box, this 2007 vintage edition is one of the more exclusive cask maturations in the Dellavalle portfolio.


The long maturation in passito barrels characterises the aroma profile with notes of ripe fruit, gentle hints of sultanas and fine Mediterranean spice. At the same time, the grappa retains its Piedmontese clarity and distillation precision, creating a multi-layered, harmoniously balanced overall picture.
