This composition is based on carefully selected matured rums from Barbados, which are known for their aromatic depth and elegant structure. The name Dos Continentes refers to the combination of different ageing traditions and cultures that give this distillate its special character. The maturation process takes place in several stages and ensures a multi-layered flavour profile. Firstly, the rum is aged for six years in ex-bourbon barrels in its country of origin, Barbados. The distillate is then transferred to ex-sherry barrels and then further matured in ex-Banyuls wine barrels, where it undergoes Solera maturation for around four years. This combination of Caribbean rum tradition and Spanish and French cask culture creates a unique balance of fruit, flavour and elegant sweetness.
