The Hine RARE VSOP The Original Fine Champagne Cognac 40% vol. embodies the elegant, time-honoured style of the House of Hine in Jarnac, whose history dates back to 1763. The cognac house was founded by the Englishman Thomas Hine, whilst the award of the Royal Warrant in 1962 marked another significant milestone. Hine does not own any vineyards of its own, but works with numerous winegrowers from Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, selecting the eaux-de-vie for its blends from among them. Hine RARE VSOP Fine Champagne blends at least 25 different eaux-de-vie, with at least half originating from Grande Champagne, in accordance with the Fine Champagne classification. A distinctive feature is the double distillation with the fine lees, which lends the distillate additional texture and aromatic depth.

Created in 1999, Hine RARE VSOP Cognac is aged for around six years in French oak casks, giving it ample time to develop its characteristic balance of floral finesse, fruit and elegant oak notes. Fine-pored, only lightly toasted oak casks are used; their subtle influence preserves the delicate fruit and floral notes whilst imparting structure. In addition, Hine utilises both humid and dry cellars to specifically combine different ageing conditions. At 40% ABV and presented in a 0.7-litre bottle with a gift box, Hine RARE VSOP The Original Fine Champagne Cognac is a classically composed VSOP that combines traditional Charente distillation, meticulous blending and a particularly finely balanced barrel ageing process. The elegant gift box also makes this bottling an appealing choice for special occasions.
