Founded in 2010 by brothers Steve and Paul Beam, Limestone Branch Distillery is a relatively young producer of American whiskey in the "Bourbon State" of Kentucky. Despite its recent history, the distillery attaches great importance to its traditional family history in whiskey distilling, which spans seven generations. Its great-great-grandfather, Washington Dant, was an early bourbon pioneer, and its great-grandfather Minor Case Beam belongs to the family of the famous Jim Beams.

In the 1960s, the Yellowstone whiskey brand was one of the leading brands in the USA, until it finally ended up with Luxco after several changes of ownership. Luxco founded the Limestone Branch Distillery specifically for the production of the Yellowstone brand.

This special single barrel bourbon comes from the annual Yellowstone Hand Picked Collection and was carefully selected from barrel #9099. This special barrel contains a harmonious blend of 4 to 6 year old whiskeys that develop remarkable depth and complexity as they mature. The whiskeys were matured exclusively in new, heavily burnt American oak casks, which gives the bourbon its characteristic strong flavour and rich aromas of vanilla and caramel.
