This region is known for its particularly pure spring water, which plays a decisive role in the production of this exceptional Japanese pure malt whisky. Kurayoshi is composed of selected, matured malts that are distilled partly in Japan and partly in Scotland and then married together in oak barrels in Japan. This process ensures the characteristic balance of gentle fruitiness, light smokiness and harmonious spiciness that characterises the style of Japanese whiskies.
