The Octomore 14.2 is distilled from 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley with an impressive 128.9 ppm of peat content and is part of Octomore's Heavily Peated range.

Adam Hannett, the head distiller, has the privilege of choosing from a variety of over 200 different cask types. For Octomore 14.2, he made a decision that was as bold as it was masterful. He chose former Oloroso and Amarone casks from the most prestigious wine-growing regions of Spain and Italy. These casks bring with them a nutty sweetness that forms an exciting contrast to the strong peat smokiness of the Octomore. The final marriage after 5 years of maturation took place in French oak to give this single malt depth and complexity. This whisky is bottled without the addition of colouring agents and without chill filtration.
