James Fleming founded Aberlour Distillery in 1879 in the heart of Speyside, a region recognised worldwide for its world-class whiskies. The location, picturesquely situated at the confluence of the Lour Burn and the River Spey and nestled in the impressive landscape of Ben Rinnes, was carefully chosen. The crystal clear, soft spring water, which flows over the pink-coloured Granit of Ben Rinnes and comes from nearby springs, gives Aberlour whisky its unmistakable character.

Aberlour Forest Reserve whisky matures for over 10 years in a perfectly balanced combination of bourbon and sherry casks, which contribute significantly to its unmistakable flavour. Its characteristic spicy flavour is intensified by a final finish in French oak casks.
