At the end of the 1980s, natural product chemist Petra Spamer-Riether travelled to the Amazon region of Peru for more than five months. The young chemist was looking for medicinal plants for a scientific project. The shamans of the Indian tribes living there drew her attention to the so-called Pusanga roots. At that time, a love potion was developed there. The Indian name for this plant is PUSSANGA.

25 years later, Petra Spaten-Riether remembered this plant again and had the idea of making a special spirit with it.

With the help of pomegranate, chilli, Ingwerer, cardamom and many other spices, this liqueur has been produced since September 2013.
