The rum is matured using the unique Sistema Solera process, in which distillates of different ages - between six and 23 years - are married together in a selection of different oak barrels. Maturation takes place at an altitude of around 2,300 metres in the "House Above the Clouds", where the cool highland climate makes the maturation process particularly gentle and produces an exceptionally harmonious rum.
