In the picturesque landscape of Riegersburg in Styria, Alois Gölles is the third generation to run the traditional family fruit-growing business. After graduating from the renowned Federal College for Wine and Fruit Growing in Klosterneuburg, he dedicated himself to refining his parents' harvest of apples, pears, plums and peaches. He began distilling fine brandies in 1979, followed by the founding of his high-quality vinegar factory in 1984. Today, the range includes around twenty fine brandies and just as many types of vinegar, which are regularly recognised.

The "Ron Johan Rum" is characterised by its unique origin: It is distilled in Styria, with the molasses required for production sourced from Brazil, Paraguay and the Dominican Republic. Another striking feature of this rum is the label on the bottle, which depicts the pirate Black Beard and the Austrian Erzherzog Johann. The rum is also dedicated to the latter, which gives it a special cultural and historical dimension.

Ron Johan White Rum, distilled in spring 2018, is made from sugar cane molasses from South and Central America and the Caribbean. Storage in neutral stainless steel tanks ensures that the rum retains its clear colour and does not take on any woody aromas, which underlines its fine and fresh character.
