The Plantation Rum Guatemala XO Moscatel Maturation Edition 2021 is a limited edition single cask bottling that combines the elegant style of Guatemalan rums with an exceptional wine cask finish. This rum was produced in the Destiladora de Alcoholes y Roner using sugar cane molasses and distilled in column stills, which gives it a particularly clear, structured and soft base character. Fermentation over 2 to 3 days lays the aromatic foundation for a balanced distillate with a moderate ester structure.


The rum initially matured in its country of origin and was stored until 2021 before receiving its distinctive 11-month finish in Moscatel wine barrels. This finish brings additional depth, floral accents and an elegant sweetness to the rum. This edition was bottled from Cask No. 15 at 43.7% vol. With a dosage of 15 g/L, esters of 46 g/hL AA and volatile components of 148 g/hL AA, this bottling is aromatically balanced, accessible and complex at the same time.
