The Macallan Distillers is one of the most renowned whisky distilleries in the world, known for its exceptional single malt whiskies since its foundation in 1824. The sixth and presumably final edition of the Macallan series was inspired by the 173 km long Scottish River Spey, a natural wonder that contributes significantly to the uniqueness of Macallan whiskies. This edition is deeply connected to the history of the region and its wildlife, including the endangered Atlantic salmon, which is native to the river.

Macallan supports the Atlantic Salmon Trust organisation, which is committed to conservation work in the region and raising awareness. Steven Bremner, Macallan's whisky maker, hand-picked all five casks for this edition and incorporated the history of the region into the production process.
