In the picturesque landscape of Riegersburg in Styria, Alois Gölles is the third generation to run the traditional family fruit-growing business. After graduating from the renowned Federal College for Wine and Fruit Growing in Klosterneuburg, he dedicated himself to refining his parents' harvest of apples, pears, plums and peaches. He began distilling fine brandies in 1979, followed by the founding of his high-quality vinegar factory in 1984. Today, the range includes around twenty fine brandies and just as many types of vinegar, which are regularly recognised.

Gölles Alte Williams pear brandy matures for eight years in oak barrels, which gives it a distinct aroma of vanilla, wood and roasted flavours. The Williams pear, one of the most frequently distilled fruits in the world, is known for its characteristic, fruity flavour, which is excellently expressed in the distillate. Despite the long maturation period in oak barrels, this pear brandy retains the unmistakable flavour of the Williams pear, making it an exceptional pleasure experience.
