The Hennessy distillery is based in Cognac, France. The company was founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy and is now run by the eighth generation. The officer emigrated from Ireland to Cognac and founded the company "Jas Hennessy & Co". Richard Hennessy's cognac quickly gained a high reputation and became known worldwide.

Grapes grown in the Cognac region are used in the production process. After double distillation in copper stills, pure eaux-de-vie is produced, which serves as the base spirit for the cognacs.

This bottling was created in 2015, on the 250th anniversary of the House of Hennessys, to honour James Hennessy, the eldest son, Richard Hennessy. James Hennessy is a true adventurer and constantly seeks to expand his horizons by travelling. To give this blend an additional new touch, a collaboration was entered into with the international designer Marc Newson.
