Liquore Strega was created in 1860 and has since been recognised for its unique blend of over 70 herbs and spices, mainly from Europe, Central America and the Orient. After the carefully selected blend of spices has been produced, the liqueur is matured in oak barrels, which gives it additional depth and complexity. It owes its characteristic yellow colour primarily to the high saffron content in the recipe.

The origin of this traditional liqueur is based on an old legend that says that the town of Benevento was once the meeting place of all the witches in the world. This mysterious story not only contributes to the mystical aura of Liquore Strega, but also sets it apart historically from other liqueurs and gives it a unique heritage.
