In the idyllic landscape of Styria, surrounded by orchards and vineyards, the Hödl Hof distillery produces its exquisite HOLUNDER Edelbrand. With an alcohol content of 40% by volume and bottled in a 0.5-litre bottle, this brandy embodies the rich tradition and craftsmanship of distilling that has been cultivated for generations.

The long-established distillery uses a 300-litre bootleg still and a 200-litre fine still made of pure copper to ensure the highest quality of its brandies. The black elderberry used, known for its supposed healing powers, comes from the orchards of Obstbau Ferdinand Haas in Pöllau. The fruit is transported by the shortest route to the fermentation cellars, where it is fermented gently and at a controlled temperature. According to old Styrian tradition, the brandy is distilled twice, with only the high-proof centrepiece being removed for maturation in wood, glass or stainless steel.
