Bruichladdich The Laddie Eight 8 Years Old Unpeated is a characterful single malt Scotch whisky from the Scottish island of Islay that deliberately avoids smoke. With an alcohol content of 50% vol., a maturation period of 8 years and bottled in an elegant 0.7-litre bottle with a decorative tin box, it represents the modern style of the Bruichladdich Distillery, which is known for transparency, innovation and terroir-oriented whisky production.


Maturation takes place in a careful combination of first fill and second fill American oak casks, giving the whisky its balance of sweet vanilla, creamy toffee and fresh fruit flavours. The decision to use these cask types brings out the natural fruitiness of the barley while also adding depth, complexity and a slight spiciness. The Laddie Eight thus impressively shows the unpeated side of Islay, which is clearly different from the typical smoky island whiskies.
