The renowned Hennessy distillery is located in Cognac, France, and was founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy. This Irish-born officer emigrated to Cognac, where he founded the company "Jas Hennessy & Co", which is now run by the eighth generation. This fine cognac is produced exclusively from grapes grown in the Cognac region. After a double distillation in traditional copper stills, pure eaux-de-vie is produced, which serves as the basis for all Hennessy Cognacs. A particular highlight of the product range is the Hennessy Very Special, which matures for eight years in carefully selected French oak barrels.
