Caol Ila Moch is a lighter and more approachable take on the classic Caol Ila single malt whisky from the Scottish island of Islay. The name ‘Moch’ comes from Gaelic and means ‘dawn’, which reflects the fresh and bright character of this whisky. In contrast to the distillery’s standard, heavily peated bottlings, the Moch offers a more refined balance of peaty smoke, citrus freshness and elegant sweetness.
Produced at the Caol Ila Distillery, which has been operating on the coast of Islay since 1846, this single malt is distilled from peated barley malt and matured in American oak casks. By omitting an age statement, the Moch focuses on a light, fresh and harmonious flavour profile that is exciting for both newcomers to Islay and experienced whisky enthusiasts alike.
