It was developed with the aim of bringing juniper – as the central botanical – even more to the fore than in the classic Sipsmith London Dry Gin. To achieve this, the distillery uses twice the amount of juniper berries and combines them with an elaborate three-stage juniper infusion process. A key part of this process is a three-day maceration, which allows the characteristic essential compounds of the juniper berries to develop with particular intensity.

In keeping with the heightened botanical intensity, Sipsmith V.J.O.P. Gin is bottled at a robust 57.7% ABV. This high strength carries the pronounced juniper character and makes the gin particularly assertive in classic cocktails and long drinks.
