Mezan The Unaltered Rum Guyana 2011 46% ABV 0.7 l + GB is an authentic Demerara rum from Guyana that impressively embodies the purist approach of the renowned Mezan The Unaltered Rum range. The Mezan Rum brand represents a limited collection of carefully selected bottlings designed to preserve the original character of Caribbean rum. All bottlings in this range are bottled without added sugar, colourings or chill filtration, thereby preserving the natural style of the distillate in its purest form.


This Guyana rum was distilled in 2011 at the Diamond Distillery and bottled in 2022, giving it an age of 11 years. It is produced from molasses, whilst distillation takes place in modern Savalle four-column stills. Maturation occurs in two phases: First, there is a 3-year tropical maturation in Guyana, before the rum is stored in Europe for a further 8 years. This Demerara Aged Rum is stored in selected ex-bourbon casks, allowing a harmonious balance to develop between the cask character and the spirit. As a single-origin rum from Guyana, this bottling represents the region’s traditional style and showcases the characteristic depth of the renowned Demerara rums. The bottling is also limited to 5,500 bottles worldwide, making this limited-edition Guyana rum particularly appealing to collectors and connoisseurs of authentic rums.
