A total of 13 botanicals are used in the Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin with California Orange Citrus. Alongside the intense freshness of the California Orange Citrus, exotic ingredients such as Chinese lime, grapefruit, kaffir lime and the eponymous Chinese Gunpowder Tea create a complex and fresh interplay of aromas. The Gunpowder tea adds slightly smoky and peppery notes, lending this premium Irish gin its unmistakable character. The botanicals are slowly distilled in medieval copper stills, whilst selected ingredients are further refined in what is known as an ‘infusion basket’. With an alcohol content of 43 per cent, this gin is fresh, spicy and intensely aromatic.
