A total of 13 botanicals are used in this special Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin. Alongside the fruity California orange citrus, exotic ingredients such as Chinese lime, grapefruit, kaffir lime and the eponymous Chinese gunpowder tea create a complex and fresh interplay of aromas. The Gunpowder Tea brings subtly smoky and peppery notes to the recipe. The botanicals are slowly distilled in medieval copper stills, with selected ingredients being refined in what is known as an ‘infusion basket’. With an alcohol content of 43 per cent, this premium Irish gin is fresh, spicy and intensely aromatic.
