Ron Cubaney ESTUPENDO 15 Solera 38% vol. comes from the Dominican Republic and is produced from molasses distilled using the column still method. This bottling embodies the country’s long rum-making tradition and combines continuous distillation with multi-stage ageing. The Cubaney Estupendo 15 Años utilises the Solera method, in which distillates of different ages are blended together. The designation ‘15 Años’ refers to the oldest component within the blend and not to a continuous 15-year ageing period for all the distillates contained therein. This form of blending makes it possible to combine younger and older components in a targeted manner to create a balanced style.


During maturation, Cubaney ESTUPENDO 15 Solera relies on a combination of ex-bourbon casks and French wine casks, allowing different cask characteristics to be incorporated into the blend. The combination of American oak and French wine casks lends the bottling additional depth and emphasises its distinctive Solera style. At 38% ABV, the rum is comparatively mild and approachable, whilst the cask selection and multi-stage ageing process provide additional complexity. The Dominican Solera rum is bottled in a 0.7-litre bottle. Thanks to the combination of a molasses base, column still distillation, the Solera system and double cask ageing, Cubaney Estupendo stands out as a versatile example of matured Dominican rum.
