The Bunnahabhain Distillery, situated on the picturesque coast of the Isle of Islay, was founded in 1881 and is renowned for its unique, unpeated whiskies. The distillery originally relied on maritime trade and experienced a turning point in 1960 with the construction of a new road, which improved logistics. Following a brief closure in the 1930s and the last ship’s arrival in 1993, the road became the main supply route. In 2006, following its acquisition by Burn Stewart Distillers, the brand’s image underwent a modern revamp. The water used for the whiskies comes from calcareous springs and is channelled to the distillery without coming into contact with peat, which gives the whiskies their mild, characteristic flavour.

Bunnahabhain 14 Years Old Ruby Port Cask Matured Limited Release 2024 is a remarkable bottling that remains true to the distillery’s signature style whilst offering a fascinating variation. This limited edition was created to celebrate the renowned Fèis Ìle, the Islay Festival of Music and Malt.

After 11 years’ maturation in bourbon casks, the whisky was given a three-year finish in Ruby Port hogsheads. Originally bottled in bourbon casks on 26 May 2009 and transferred on 17 November 2020, it unfolds elegant aromas of ripe cherries and chocolate.
