The Barceló Imperial Rare Blends Porto Cask is a special bottling from the Dominican Republic, combining the matured style of Barceló Imperial with additional ageing in port casks. This edition forms part of Barceló’s Rare Blends Collection, in which selected matured distillates are given their own distinctive character through the use of different cask types. The foundation is the Dominican rum style characteristic of the brand, whose maturation under tropical conditions allows for an intense exchange between the distillate and the wood. For the Porto Cask Edition, a targeted secondary maturation takes place in casks that previously contained port wine.
