Luigi Francoli Grappa La Grande in Barrique is a truly masterfully crafted grappa that combines the tradition and innovative spirit of the Francoli family distillery. Since its foundation in 1875 in Ghemme, in the Italian region of Piedmont, the distillery has developed into one of the best-known and largest distilleries in the region. Francoli stands for the highest quality and traditional craftsmanship, which is also brilliantly showcased in this grappa.

The distillery is renowned not only for its excellent spirits but also for its commitment to sustainable production. As a pioneer in environmentally friendly grappa production, Francoli became the first grappa distillery in the world to achieve a completely climate-neutral carbon footprint. This is achieved through the use of plant-based fuels in the distillation process, which have a significantly lower environmental impact than conventional energy sources. Furthermore, Francoli is committed to nature conservation: as part of the ‘Impatto Zero’ project, the company has established a 340,000-square-metre conservation area in Costa Rica to help preserve natural resources.

Grappa La Grande in Barrique is an example of this unique combination of traditional craftsmanship and a modern, environmentally conscious approach. After distillation, the grappa is aged for seven years in barrique casks, which imparts exceptional woody and vanilla notes and enhances the grappa’s complexity and depth.
