Etsu Japanese Handcrafted Gin The Original 43% ABV 0.7 l is a high-quality, premium Japanese gin that combines traditional distilling techniques with a carefully balanced selection of Japanese and classic botanicals. It is produced at the Asahikawa Distillery on the northern island of Hokkaido, where the pure water from the Taisetsu Mountains forms a key element of the production process. The name ‘Etsu Gin’ means ‘pleasure’ in Japanese and embodies the philosophy behind this artisanal gin speciality. The recipe combines juniper berries, Japanese yuzu, bitter orange peel, coriander seeds, liquorice root and angelica root. Before distillation, the botanicals are macerated for 22 hours to allow their distinctive characteristics to develop. Bottled at 43% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, Etsu The Original Gin embodies the fusion of Japanese ingredients with traditional gin-making.

What makes Etsu Japanese Handcrafted Gin so special is the harmonious interplay of its selected citrus fruits, herbs and spices, as well as the meticulous craftsmanship at the Japanese distillery. The yuzu fruit, in particular – a distinctive Japanese citrus – plays a key role in the recipe. The combination of a 22-hour maceration process, pure mountain water from Hokkaido and traditional distillation underscores the artisanal quality of this bottling. In this version, Etsu Gin is presented together with a matching gin glass in a decorative gift box. This makes the Japanese gin gift set with glass particularly suitable for connoisseurs of exceptional botanicals and high-quality spirits from Japan.
