The Plantation Rum PANAMA 2007 Syrah Cask Maturation Edition 2021 is a limited-edition single-cask rum from Panama, bottled at 46.2 per cent in a 0.7-litre bottle, complete with a gift box. The rum was distilled in 2007 at Alcoholes Del Istmo from molasses using the column still method. Its maturation began directly in Panama, where the distillate was stored for eleven years under tropical conditions in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak. The rum was then transported to France and matured for a further two years at Maison Ferrand in ex-cognac casks under continental conditions. This combination of tropical and continental maturation forms the basis for the complex character of this special vintage bottling.


Plantation Panama 2007 was given its distinctive finish through an additional ten-month finish in a Syrah red wine cask. As a result, the bottling is characterised by three different cask types: ex-bourbon, cognac and Syrah. It is precisely this unusual Syrah cask finish that sets this 2021 Maturation Edition apart within the Plantation Rum portfolio, adding a distinctly recognisable red wine character to the matured Panama Rum. Dark fruits, floral notes and spicy accents blend harmoniously with the rum’s fundamental character.
