Description
The Hunter Laing Scarabus 10 Years Old Islay Single Malt is a powerful and complex whisky that embodies the rugged and wild flavours of the Isle of Islay. Named after an area of the island whose name, ‘Scarabus’, translates as ‘rocky place’, this whisky reflects both the geographical character and the history of Islay. The bottle and its designs were inspired by John Francis Campbell, a Scottish scholar and author, and offer a fascinating insight into the island’s traditions.
The Scarabus 10 Years Old is matured for at least 10 years in a combination of refill, ex-bourbon and American virgin oak casks, lending it impressive complexity and depth. The result is an Islay single malt characterised by its typical sweet peaty notes, whilst also surprising with an extra layer of complexity. With an alcohol content of 46% ABV, this whisky offers a powerful yet balanced blend of peaty smoke, sweet and spicy flavours.
