El Libertad FLAVOR OF ORIGIN Chapter I is the first instalment in the El Libertad collection and focuses on the origins of its Dominican base. The spirit is produced from high-quality molasses from the Dominican Republic, which is refined with a selection of 100 per cent natural spices. Natural vanilla flavourings are also used, whilst the producer deliberately opts for a comparatively low sugar content. The official product description classifies the bottling as a ‘Spirit Drink Spiced Rum’, which is why it can aptly be categorised in the European retail market as a rum-based spirit or a spiced spirit drink. With an alcohol content of 40 per cent and a volume of 0.7 litres, Chapter I combines the robust molasses base with spices and a deliberately smoother, more approachable profile.

Behind El Libertad Flavor of Origin lies a narrative concept in which each bottling forms a new chapter in a journey centred on freedom, origin and discovery. Chapter I opens this series and particularly highlights the contrast between bolder roasted flavours and sweeter components. The producer describes roasted chocolate and pastries as characteristic elements of the first chapter. The combination of Dominican molasses, natural spices, vanilla and a low sugar content gives this bottling its unique position within the El Libertad range. No age statement is provided for Chapter I. The focus is therefore less on a defined ageing period and more on the combination of the Dominican rum base with the selected flavourings.
