The history of Ableforth's Bathtub Gin goes back to the time of American Prohibition, when the production of alcohol often took place under adventurous conditions. Due to the lack of legally available alcohol at the time, people resorted to low-quality or even denatured alcohol and mixed it with juniper and other spices in bathtubs at home. The herbs and spices were left in the alcohol for several days or weeks to improve its flavour and conceal its inferior quality. This gave rise to the term "Bathtub Gin".

Ableforth's Bathtub Old Tom Gin is characterised by a clear flavour profile with an exciting, slightly peppery nuance.

This premium gin is distilled in traditional copper stills and is given its characteristic flavour through the addition of specific aromas and a slight sweetness.
