The XM Supreme spends a total of 15 years in selected used oak casks under the climatic conditions of Guyana. Former bourbon or sherry casks are used for the maturation process; their previous contents impart additional cask and wood notes to the matured rum.

During this time, the tropical climate of Guyana in South America ensures an intensive exchange between the rum and the oak.
