Ron Zacapa Centenario RESERVA LIMITADA Solera Gran Reserva 2015 is an exclusive limited edition from Guatemala, bottled at 45 per cent in a 0.7-litre bottle, complete with a gift box. For this special bottling, Master Blender Lorena Vásquez specifically selected high-quality rums of varying ages from Zacapa’s stocks. The rums used range in age from six to 24 years and are blended together using the Solera system, which is characteristic of the house. A key feature is the ageing process at the so-called ‘House Above the Clouds’, situated at around 2,300 metres above sea level. The cooler climate of the Guatemalan highlands slows down the ageing process and promotes controlled development during the long period of cask ageing.


The Reserva Limitada 2015 features rums that have been matured in both ex-bourbon casks and ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It is precisely the combination of these two types of cask that lends this limited edition additional depth and sets it apart from the regular Zacapa bottlings. At 45% ABV, it also has a higher alcohol content, which brings out the complex cask character particularly well. The Zacapa Reserva Limitada 2015 is therefore an interesting Guatemalan premium rum in the Solera style for connoisseurs and collectors seeking rarer vintage editions of the brand.
