The Glenglassaugh Distillery, a renowned Scottish whisky distillery, is picturesquely situated near Portsoy in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Its location along the coastline of the Moray Firth not only offers breathtaking views of the North Sea, but also shapes the unique character of its whisky. The distillery’s history stretches back to its foundation in 1875. Since then, Glenglassaugh has developed a rich tradition of craftsmanship and the distillation of high-quality single malt whiskies, which are prized by connoisseurs around the world.

The Gaelic word ‘Torfa’ means ‘peat’, and the Glenglassaugh malt lives up to this name. It is Glenglassaugh’s first peated malt since its reopening in 2008. In the 100 years prior to that, the distillery was closed more often than it was in operation, and whilst there may well have been peated whiskies produced back then, there are no precise records to confirm this.
