Barceló Gran Añejo Ron Dominicano 37.5% vol. is a matured rum from the Dominican Republic, blending several carefully selected distillates to create a harmonious whole. For the Barceló Gran Añejo, various Dominican rums are blended together, having been aged for up to six years in ex-bourbon oak casks. During this ageing process, the characteristic combination of mellow cask flavour, delicate sweetness and toasted notes develops. The ex-bourbon casks lend the rum additional depth whilst ensuring that the accessible style of the Barceló brand is preserved. The result is an añejo rum from the Dominican Republic that combines matured cask character with a pleasantly rounded structure.

At 37.5% ABV, the Barceló Gran Añejo is well-balanced and versatile, with the effects of its multi-year cask maturation clearly discernible without making the rum feel unnecessarily heavy. Chocolate, vanilla and caramelised nuts characterise its smooth, semi-dry profile, whilst a nutty, caramel-like finish provides extra length. It is precisely this balance that makes Barceló Gran Añejo rum an appealing choice both for enjoying neat on the rocks and for high-quality rum cocktails. In the 0.7-litre bottle, this matured Dominican rum combines up to six years’ cask ageing, classic ex-bourbon oak and a smooth, clearly structured style to create a versatile expression within the Barceló range.
