Ararat 5 Years Old 40% vol. is a classic Armenian brandy from the Yerevan Brandy Company, whose history dates back to 1887. Only white grape varieties grown in Armenia are used in the production of Ararat brandies, including traditional varieties such as Voskehat and Garandmak. After gentle pressing, the grape juice is first fermented into a base wine and then double-distilled, with only the heart of the second distillation being used for further production. ARARAT 5 Years Old is blended from selected brandy distillates that have been aged for at least five years, thus forming the basis for this time-honoured member of the ARARAT range.

Cask maturation plays a key role in the production process, as Ararat uses Caucasian oak casks for this purpose, which are crafted in its own cooperage. The wood comes from oak trees at least 70 years old and is carefully prepared for cask-making. Following maturation, the master blenders combine various distillates to create the final blend, which is then stored once more to allow the flavours to harmonise. The 5-year-old ARARAT Armenian Brandy is part of the brand’s classic core range and is bottled at 40% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle. This bottling thus combines Armenian winemaking tradition, local grapes, double distillation and long-standing expertise in cask management to create a brandy steeped in tradition from Armenia.
