The Speyside malts, matured for at least 10 years, are blended by Douglas Laing to create a distinctive small-batch release that particularly clearly showcases the typically opulent style of the Scallywag range. For this aged expression, the whisky is matured entirely in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, giving it a pronounced sherry character. The name Scallywag is inspired by the Douglas Laing family’s Fox Terriers, which also define the brand’s distinctive image.

With an alcohol content of 46 per cent, the Scallywag 10 Years Old Speyside Blended Malt has sufficient structure to clearly showcase its long maturation period and the intense influence of the Spanish sherry casks. Douglas Laing bottles this edition without added colouring and without chill filtration, ensuring that its colour and character remain as authentic as possible. Maturation exclusively in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks clearly distinguishes the 10-year-old Scallywag from many classic Speyside blended malts and gives it a particularly concentrated, sherry-driven style.
