La Hechicera Ron Extra Añejo de Solera 40% vol. comes from Colombia and embodies a dry, barrel-driven rum style, with a focus on ageing and artisanal blending. Behind the brand is the Riascos family, who, based in Barranquilla on Colombia’s Caribbean coast, draw on many years of experience with aged rums. For La Hechicera Extra Añejo, selected aged rums are blended and harmoniously combined using the Solera method. Ageing takes place in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak, whose influence gives the rum its characteristic combination of fruit, vanilla, toasted notes and spicy wood. No added sugar or other flavour-altering additives are used, allowing the rum’s natural cask character to shine through particularly clearly.

At 40% ABV, this Colombian La Hechicera rum is well-balanced, dry and pleasantly smooth, without losing its spicy structure. Plum, orange and tropical fruit combine with toffee, cocoa, coffee and American oak to create a multi-layered profile. It is precisely the combination of the warm Colombian climate, ageing in ex-bourbon casks and Solera blending that defines the distinctive character of this bottling. The compact 0.05-litre miniature bottle brings the familiar style of La Hechicera Reserva Familiar in a practical tasting size and is ideal for getting to know the rum, for tastings or as a small addition to gift sets. La Hechicera Extra Añejo 0.05 l thus combines its Colombian origins, traditional cask maturation and a deliberately unadulterated rum character.
