Rhum J.M Vieux Agricole Millésimé 2013 is a vintage-dated Rhum Agricole Vieux from Martinique, which embodies the traditional style of the J.M distillery. Unlike molasses-based rum, Rhum Agricole is produced directly from freshly pressed sugarcane juice. The sugarcane used for Rhum J.M comes from the area surrounding the distillery in the north of Martinique, at the foot of Montagne Pelée, where the combination of a tropical climate and volcanic soils shapes the region’s agriculture. The designation ‘Millésimé 2013’ indicates the vintage of this bottling and sets it apart from non-vintage blends. Following distillation, the distillate was aged for years in oak casks, allowing the original character of the sugar cane to blend with the influences of the long cask maturation.

The J.M Distillery is located in Macouba, Martinique, and boasts a history dating back to 1845. It is one of the most renowned producers of Rhum Agricole Martinique and closely links the cultivation of sugar cane with its subsequent processing and distillation. Particularly with a vintage Rhum Agricole such as the Millésime 2013, the focus is on the unique development of a specific vintage during its tropical maturation. With an alcohol content of 43.8 per cent, this matured Agricole is bottled at a full-bodied strength.
