Shede Spirit of the Sages is a premium, strong-aroma baijiu from Sichuan, China, whose concept combines the Chinese spirits tradition with philosophical symbolism. The edition is also presented as ‘Dialogue Between Chinese & Western Sages’ or ‘The Path to Happiness’ and is inspired by the teachings of the Chinese philosopher Laozi and the Greek philosopher Socrates. At its heart lies the shared belief that contentment and the renunciation of excessive desire can pave the way to lasting happiness. The raw materials used include high-quality sorghum, which is processed and fermented using traditional methods. The base baijiu is aged for at least eight years, allowing its robust, strong-aroma style to harmonise as it matures.
