Labiette Castille Bas-Armagnac XO is an exceptional premium Bas-Armagnac from the renowned Bas-Armagnac region in south-west France. At 40% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, this fine cuvée embodies the expertise of the long-established Labiette Castille house, which is owned by the Lesgourgues family. Only grapes from the domaine’s own vineyards are used for this XO Armagnac. The cuvée comprises the classic Armagnac grape varieties Ugni Blanc (Trebbiano), Baco 22A, Colombard and Folle Blanche, each of which is vinified separately. This is followed by traditional distillation in an ‘alambic armagnacais’, the typical Armagnac column still, which preserves the aromatic diversity of the individual grape varieties particularly well.

Ageing takes place separately by grape variety and vintage, exclusively in Gascony oak casks, whose fine tannins and complex woody aromas shape the character of the Armagnac over many years. The Labiette Castille Bas Armagnac XO is a blend of more than 30 different eaux-de-vie, with the youngest component having matured for at least 12 years in Gascony oak casks. Before bottling, the blend is only lightly clarified and filtered. The result is an exceptionally elegant Bas Armagnac that impresses with its great aromatic depth, impressive finesse and a significantly higher average age than that required by Armagnac regulations for an XO.
