The Ardnahoe 5 Years Old is bottled at cask strength at a robust 61 per cent, without significant dilution, thereby preserving the distillate’s original aroma. Maturation takes place in selected oak casks, which lend the whisky a balanced blend of smoke, sweetness and spice. Typical of Islay whisky, there is a distinct peaty note here too, combined with maritime and malty influences.
