El Ron del Artesano 8 Años Ruby Port Cask Finish Panama Rum 43.4% ABV 0.7 l is a characterful Panama Rum, distinguished by its careful ageing and a special port cask finish. This 8-year-old rum from Panama forms part of the core range of El Ron del Artesano and is aged entirely for eight years without the use of the Solera system. The premium rum is first aged for seven years in ex-bourbon casks made of American oak, before undergoing further refinement in a Portuguese Ruby Port cask. This Ruby Port cask finish lends the rum a distinctive aromatic depth and creates an elegant blend of fruity, spicy and sweet notes. Particularly noteworthy is the transparent production philosophy: no sugar is added, and thanks to careful cask preparation, the sugar content remains below 5 g/litre, allowing the Panama Rum to retain its natural character.


The combination of classic bourbon cask maturation and additional ageing in a Ruby Port cask results in a complex aged rum from Panama that blends fruitiness with elegance. Intense fruity aromas, reminiscent of cherries and dried plums, are already evident on the nose. With a little time in the glass, vanilla and subtle notes of orange peel also unfold. On the palate, El Ron del Artesano 8 Años Ruby Port Cask Finish is soft and silky, with a harmonious balance of cherry, vanilla, cream sweets and cherry cake, all characterised by the cask ageing. It is only in the finish that the rum reveals its pleasantly integrated alcohol structure, which fades gently and in perfect balance.
