Los Siete Misterios DOBA-YEJ Mezcal Artesanal DOP 2024 is one of the defining bottlings of Los Siete Misterios and is also the mezcal with which the brand originated. Produced in sun-drenched Oaxaca, this Mezcal Artesanal is made from fully matured Agave Angustifolia Haw, better known as Espadín. The name Doba Yej comes from the old Zapotec language and means Espadín, which emphasises the close connection between product, origin and culture. This edition is limited to 7,150 bottles and thus documents the consistent artisanal approach of the producers.


The agave hearts are traditionally cooked in earth ovens for three to five days, then left to rest, ground and naturally fermented. The double distillation is carried out using the classic method in Alambiques de Cobre, i.e. in copper stills, as is typical for authentic Mezcal DOP. This Oaxaca mezcal is produced in small batches using the traditional techniques of the maestros mezcaleros from Santiago Matatlán. Bottled at 44%, Los Siete Misterios DOBA-YEJ is clear, precise and balanced and combines traditional production methods with a fresh, accessible style.
